It’s been a year since the tumor first appeared. In such a short time, it has grown aggressively and spread rapidly. Her belly swells as if it might burst, a painful contrast to her thin frame.
Sadly, Grandma lives completely alone. The house she stays in is just a borrowed shelter from a kind neighbor—one that could be taken back at any time.
Whenever the pain hits, despair creeps in. But Grandma says the Holy Spirit always reminds her: that giving up is a sin. That reminder brings her back to her knees, praying for the strength to endure.
When the tumor was still small, Grandma managed to see a doctor. They advised her to undergo surgery and chemotherapy before it spread. But she simply didn’t have the money to move forward with treatment.
Now, even walking has become difficult. Grandma spends most of her days lying down, or crawling on the floor when she needs to use the toilet or get food.
To survive, she handcrafts brooms from coconut leaves. Each bundle sells for just 20 cents, and she can only make two per day. Grandma often goes hungry because she can’t afford a single portion of rice…
In her pain, Grandma holds firmly to her faith. She believes that Lord Jesus will one day answer her prayers. She doesn’t know when that day will come, but she trusts He hears her.
