He has been forced to leave home, with no stable place to live, and often sleeps on the streets. He has even been robbed while resting on the sidewalk. Despite all of this, he refuses to give up on his quest to earn a living.
He constantly moves from job to job, but his efforts are often met with rejection. Many customers turn away upon seeing his face, despite his warm nature and determination to work.
Slamet’s elderly parents live in the village, and he dreams of earning enough to help them receive medical treatment — and for him to finally get the care he so desperately needs. But it’s an uphill battle. His goods often go unsold, as people are too quick to judge him based on his appearance.
