At 69, Koh Sing Battles Hunger by Selling Snacks
Fundraiser
Mata Hati is a non government organization who help people in need

Koh Sing is turning 69 this year. But at such an old age, he has no home to shelter him. Today, he lives in a small rented room — one that he often struggles to pay for.

Many times, he falls behind on rent. Even for food, he sometimes cannot afford to buy rice. Hunger has become his unwanted companion, forcing him to endure until someone buys his snacks.

To survive, Koh Sing walks around Surabaya city, selling snacks he takes from an agent. Yet, many days, the income he earns is not even enough to cover his costs. He goes everywhere on foot, as he has no bicycle or vehicle at all.

“I once received fake money from a buyer. At first, I was so happy my snacks were sold. But when I tried to buy rice, the seller told me it was fake,” Koh Sing recalled sadly.

Yet, despite the hardships, Koh Sing never loses hope. He believes that God walks with him, even through the most difficult times, and he continues to hold onto faith.

Dear friends, share your best blessings so that Koh Sing can live with dignity. Don’t let him struggle through life alone.
