“As other mothers watch their children grow, I have to see my two beloved ones lying in bed with cerebral palsy. Our children need regular treatment, but we as parents cannot afford the medical expenses,” – Mother of Leo & Qonita.
———-
For four years, Leo (8 years old) has been enduring epilepsy and cerebral palsy, which has damaged 90% of his nerves.
This suffering started when Leo fell from the second floor of a mosque while attending Quran classes. His head hit a large rock, resulting in five skull surgeries.
Leo was in a critical condition and lay in a coma in the ICU for a month. Since that day, this little boy can no longer speak, his sensory functions have deteriorated, and he cannot walk.
The head injury caused him to suffer from cerebral palsy!
“Now Leo can only drag himself on the floor; he can’t walk anymore. He also can’t speak, only able to cry,” – Mother
As his parents’ tears had not yet dried from mourning Leo’s condition, his sister Qonita (6 years old) also fell ill! She was diagnosed with epilepsy due to viral encephalitis, which stiffened her body.
During seizures, the youngest’s motor nerves malfunction, leaving her body immobile.
As if things couldn’t get worse, while the medical expenses for both children continued to soar, Mama lost her job.
Now, all medical and daily expenses rely on Papa, who works tirelessly as a motorbike taxi driver and street vendor. Unfortunately, Father’s income is minimal and unstable.
