“Dizzy… hungry… nothing sold today…” she whispered, trying to steady her weak body.

Grandma Kwe Sin Gwat, 81 years old, is far past the age of rest. Her body is frail, her skin deeply wrinkled, and her vision slowly fading due to cataracts.

Every morning at 6 a.m., Grandma begins her day by walking long distances to sell spring rolls and pancakes. Step by step, she pushes herself forward. But age is unforgiving — her legs often give way, forcing her to stop and catch her breath.

“It’s not that I don’t want to keep selling,”
she says softly.
“My legs just hurt so much.”

Grandma doesn’t cook the food herself. She only helps sell for others, earning a very small amount for each piece sold. On a good day, she manages to earn just enough to survive. On bad days, she returns home with almost nothing.

“If I manage to sell ten pieces,” she says,
“I already feel very happy.”

With such limited income, proper meals are a luxury. Most days, she eats plain rice just to ease the hunger. She carefully sets aside what little she earns to pay rent — because losing her shelter is a fear that never leaves her.

Grandma has only one wish: to eat peacefully, to sleep without fear of being chased away, and to leave this world without burdening anyone.
