Atalah Mubarok is only 2 and a half months old, born on October 11, 2024—but his life has been filled with struggles since the moment he came into the world. Diagnosed with severe respiratory distress, Pfeiffer syndrome, and non-communicating hydrocephalus, Atalah depends on oxygen just to breathe and survive each day.

Shortly after birth, he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, with blue skin and difficulty breathing. He has undergone two major surgeries—one on his neck to assist with breathing, and another on his head to manage the fluid buildup in his brain. A third operation is planned to open an airway between his nose and throat, as he currently lacks a proper passage.

His parents, Firman Syah and Ela Karmila, come from a humble background in Jambi. Firman, a daily wage laborer, had to stop working three months ago to care for Atalah, who requires frequent hospital visits and full-time attention. The family now stays at a charity shelter near the hospital. Atalah’s older brother, Irwansyah (7), has also stopped attending school to stay with the family during this challenging time.

Despite being so young, Atalah has already shown immense strength. He spent over 48 days in the ICU, facing critical moments and relying on medical devices such as oxygen machines, suction tools, and feeding tubes to keep him stable. His mother recalls one of the hardest moments—watching her newborn baby turn blue and struggling to breathe.

Now, Atalah continues to fight for his life, surrounded by the unwavering love of his parents and brother. His family’s only hope is for him to recover, grow strong, and live a life free from pain.
