Autism, Brain Damage, Swollen Abdomen: Dara Fight for Life After 16 Years of Struggle
Fundraiser
Tarsim is Dara's father

Not once in her life has Dara ever truly been healthy. I’ve lost count of how many times she’s been mocked… and now she has to suffer through the pain of fighting this deadly disease.” – Tarsim, pempek seller.

For all of her 16 years, Dara has never caught a break. She was born different—premature and breech. Yanti (her mother) soon noticed that something was wrong with her development. That mother’s instinct proved true, Dara was diagnosed with brain nerve damage and autism. In an instant, Tarsim and Yanti’s world came crashing down.

With a heart full of love, Yanti accepted the diagnosis and devoted herself to caring for Dara. At first, Dara was able to attend regular school, but she faced constant bullying because of her condition. She eventually transferred to a special needs school, but even that journey was cut short due to financial hardship. Life was already difficult—but even putting food on the table was a daily struggle.

For years, Dara survived on whatever little they had. But one day, her condition worsened—she started screaming in pain, and her stomach began to swell dramatically. Then came the devastating news: Dara had developed a 12 cm tumor on her ovary, caused by a malignant cancer.

She has faced multiple life-threatening episodes, having to be rushed by the village ambulance. Surgery is now the only hope to save Dara’s life and prevent severe complications. But where would the money come from?

Her father has never stopped trying—working every job he can get: laborer, pempek seller, even factory worker. But no matter how hard Tarsim fights, the money he earns still falls far short of the huge cost needed for Dara’s surgery.
