At an age where her days should be filled with laughter and play, Hana can only watch from afar. Her small body tires easily, and her steps are not as strong as her friends. At school, she often falls behind. She becomes breathless quickly and cannot move as far or as freely as other children. Her frail condition leaves her exhausted, and heartbreakingly, one of her legs is also unbalanced, making it harder for her to walk.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Hana was diagnosed with a narrow heart valve at birth. In 2017, at just 4 years old, she underwent a procedure using a special balloon catheter to open her mitral valve, which should carry blood from the lungs to the rest of her body. But because of the narrowing, Hana’s tiny body was often starved of oxygen and energy.
Although the surgery helped, doctors have advised continuous monitoring into adulthood. There’s a high chance Hana will need a second surgery if her condition worsens.
Hana comes from a family struggling to make ends meet. Her father, now in his 60s, can no longer work due to age and health issues. Her mother stays home full-time to care for Hana and the family’s daily needs. Despite his frailty, Hana’s father pushes himself to work part-time as a bus driver—though it is risky given his age of over 60.
They have no stable income. No savings. Only prayers and love hold them together day by day.
The family urgently needs funds for Hana’s follow-up treatments, hospital appointments, medications, and special needs to give her a more comfortable life.
