Nur Syariah Daulay, a 10-year-old girl, was once an active and cheerful student. But in June 2024, her world changed when she was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia, a rare and life-threatening condition where her body can no longer produce blood cells. It all started when she collapsed during a school event, and further tests revealed that her hemoglobin was dangerously low at 4, and her platelets had dropped to just 2. Since then, Nur has been in and out of the hospital, suffering from severe bleeding, vomiting blood, and even losing a tooth that left a wound reaching her chin.
Her mother, Bu Misna, had to stop working to care for her, while her father, Ali Adam Daulay, juggles odd jobs just to afford her medical expenses. However, his income—barely $5–$6 per day—is not enough to cover the costly medications and procedures not covered by insurance. They even sold their only piece of land for $800 to continue Nur’s treatment.
The only real cure for Nur is a bone marrow transplant, which is unavailable in Indonesia. Without it, she requires blood transfusions 3-4 times a month just to survive. The family now faces an impossible choice—how can they afford treatment abroad when they can barely afford daily living expenses?
Despite everything, Bu Misna refuses to give up hope. She endures sleepless nights, comforting Nur through her pain, while Nur clings to one dream: to recover and return home to her father and little sister. Their only hope now is help from kind-hearted donors who can give Nur a second chance at life.
