Baby Zaidan Diagnosed With Rare Liver Disease, Requires Urgent Surgery
Fundraiser
Nurhikma is Zaidan’s mother

Muhammad Zaidan Abdillah was born healthy, the second child completing the joy of Mr. Abi and Mrs. Nor’s small family. But tragedy struck unexpectedly, stealing the bright smile from little Zaidan’s face.

At just 4 days old, Zaidan was hospitalized for an umbilical cord infection. Then, at 2 months, his entire body turned yellow. Phototherapy didn’t work, and his belly began swelling uncontrollably—nearly bursting! The family’s worst fears came true when doctors delivered devastating news:

Zaidan’s bile ducts were damaged by a rare and deadly disease, biliary atresia, which affects only 1 in 15,000 babies. He underwent a Kasai procedure, but it failed. Now, only a liver transplant can save his life.

The family had to move to the city for his treatment, selling their belongings and using up all their savings. Mr. Abi switched jobs to become a ride-hailing driver, earning barely $5 per day, while paying rent for their small home. But how can he possibly cover the thousands of dollars needed for Zaidan’s surgery—costs not covered by insurance—on such a small income?

Now, Mr. Abi clings to his faith, praying for a miracle to save his little boy.

#KindSouls, with your help, Zaidan can end his cries of pain and fight this rare disease.
