Unable to Afford Treatment, Yet Still Working to Survive

Siti Maisaroh’s life is a story of extraordinary strength. Since 2014, she has faced endless hardship — first battling breast cancer, and then, in 2016, developing a tumor on her face. The tumor has continued to grow over the years, now covering nearly half of her face.

Despite her illness, Maisaroh never stopped working to support her family. Her husband works as a daily laborer, while she sews clothes to earn extra income. But their earnings are far from enough — even paying for basic health insurance is impossible. As a result, Maisaroh has gone over two years without proper medical treatment, allowing the tumor to spread rapidly.

Her struggle grows heavier each day. Her sewing machine — her only source of income — is now broken. Still, she refuses to give up, trying to repair it herself so she can continue working.

Maisaroh’s perseverance, as a mother fighting through pain, poverty, and illness for the sake of her family, reminds us of a mother’s incredible strength and love.
