“My only hope left is this right leg. If this one gets amputated too, I don’t know how I’ll earn a living,” said Pak Amin, staring sadly at his remaining leg that has begun to decay…

A father and breadwinner, Pak Amin, faced an unexpected tragedy that changed his life forever. What started as a small, harmless wound turned into a nightmare — costing him his left leg.

It began when this cilok (meatball snack) seller noticed a blister on his left toe. He ignored it, thinking it was nothing serious. But as months passed, the wound worsened, swelled up, and turned black.

“I just remember the pain being unbearable… it became so hard to walk,” said Pak Amin.

Realizing something was wrong, he finally went to seek treatment. Sadly, it was too late — his leg was severely infected. The doctors said amputation was the only way to save his life, no matter how painful that decision was.

But did this father give up and wait for pity? No. Even with only one leg, Pak Amin continues to work hard, limping from place to place to sell his cilok.

He moves slowly with the help of a crutch, pushing himself every day to provide for his wife and child. Some days, however, his efforts end in heartbreak — when no one buys his snacks.

At times, he brings home only $1. But what’s even more terrifying for him now is that his remaining leg is showing the same signs as before.

Yes — less than a year after losing his left leg, his right one is now developing open wounds. The skin is decaying, his toes are dying off one by one, leaving only the middle toe.

“This right leg is all I have left to work… do I have to lose it too?” he murmured, his face filled with despair.

He wants to get proper treatment, but his financial situation is dire. Even buying antiseptic and bandages is a struggle. His little earnings barely cover daily meals. To make things worse, life keeps testing him — his wife has now fallen ill too.

She suffers from pinched nerves, leaving her weak and unable to help earn an income.

Though he rarely complains, the weight he carries is crushing. If only he had enough capital, he dreams of starting a small business at home — so he wouldn’t have to walk around on his fragile, infected leg.

Even if he had extra money, he says, he wouldn’t use it for comfort. He just wants to bring his wife for treatment and get proper care for himself, hoping that his remaining leg can be saved — so he won’t have to face another amputation.

Friends, we may not know Pak Amin personally, but through his story, we can see his unbreakable determination to provide for his family — even as he struggles to stand on a single, failing leg.

If you have a little to spare, would you help ease his burden? Let’s make it easier for this disabled father to keep moving forward.
