Baby Iman was born with a tumor that covers her nose and mouth (Benign Epignathus Teratoma). Seeing her condition is painful; it’s hard to imagine the suffering that Baby Iman and her family have to endure.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!7 months and 15 days spent in the ward is a terrible experience that they had to endure. Since birth, Baby Iman has undergone 4 surgeries:
- Tracheostomy surgery
- Tumor removal surgery
- Reconstruction surgery of the tongue, mouth, and nose
- Jaw bone shaping surgery for tooth development
Unfortunately, these 4 surgeries are still not enough to heal Baby Iman. She still needs more ongoing surgeries. Her care routine has also become increasingly difficult.
Her parents must always be alert with the suction device in Baby Iman’s body to ensure that mucus does not block any of her airways or feeding tubes, which could lead to suffocation and death.
Her low body immunity also can cause lung infections, which would further worsen her health.
Baby Iman cannot eat on her own (she can’t swallow), cannot take care of herself, and requires facial reconstruction, brain, and growth physiotherapy, making her treatment costs very high. She also needs to drink expensive special milk for her nutritional needs.
Although since Iman was born their family life has been like a rollercoaster, but it still doesn’t weaken her family’s spirit to fight for Iman. However, they can’t fight alone, and they need us.
