He lives with his wife, who has gone blind due to cataracts.
The crackers he sells aren’t even his—he only helps sell them. One bundle costs 80 cents but Grandpa only earns 10 cents for every bundle sold.
Sometimes, he takes breaks by the roadside, waiting for buyers who never come. His legs and shoulders ache badly, and he suffers from shortness of breath.
It’s heartbreaking—no money, no food. Grandpa Misti can only eat if he manages to sell crackers. And even then, he only eats plain rice mixed with water…
He and his wife live in a tiny 2×4 meter borrowed house. He was once kicked out of his home. Thankfully, someone kind offered him a place to stay.
His children are married and live far away. They rarely return. So, despite his age and illness, Grandpa Misti has no choice but to keep going.
