“If I sell everything, I usually get some money from the owner, sis. But if I don’t, then I don’t get paid,” Imam shared, his eyes brimming with tears.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! While other children enjoy their childhood, Imam never had that privilege. He lost both his parents and now lives alone. At just 10 years old, while his classmates are dropped off at school by their parents, Imam walks in alone, carrying the weight of the world on his small shoulders.
After school, there is no time to play—Imam must work hard just to survive. He sells fried snacks to earn money for food and school fees. But with no stable income, he is at risk of dropping out, and his dreams could vanish before they even begin.
“Gorengan, gorengan! Please buy some, sis!” his small voice calls out with hope.
He endures the scorching heat, ignores the dust and fumes, and keeps walking through the bustling city, determined to make a living. If he earns just a dollar a day, he feels grateful. But most days, sales are slow. Sometimes, out of exhaustion, he falls asleep on the sidewalk. It’s heartbreaking to witness.
Every day, fear follows Imam. What if he doesn’t have enough money for school? What will his future look like?
Imam has big dreams—he just wants to grow up like other children, go to school, play with friends, and live without the fear of not being able to continue his education.
Let’s help Imam stay in school and secure a brighter future. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.
