“I have to carry 100 bricks, and I only get paid 10 cents,” Khoir says, his voice filled with sadness.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! This boy is Khoir (14), an orphan who lost his father, and now he must work hard to feed his younger siblings and help his mother find earnings.
Every day, after school, Khoir rushes to a brick-making site to help. Under the scorching sun, he pushes his cart, hoping to carry more than 100 bricks so he can buy food for his siblings.
But sadly, Khoir is still a child, and his strength isn’t enough for the hard labor. “Usually, I can carry up to 400 bricks, and I bring home 60 cents,” Khoir says quietly.
He feels the pain of exhaustion, always remembering his father. Maybe, if his father were still here, things wouldn’t be so hard for him.
The money he earns is never enough to meet their daily needs. His youngest sibling, Said (7), even asked for a new school bag because his old one is torn.
“It’s hard seeing my little sibling ask for a new bag. We often struggle just to eat,” Khoir shares.
He also tells how his family often borrows money from the store just to buy rice. There are times when all they have to eat is rice with salt. Khoir hopes for help with living expenses so that he and his family can live with dignity.
#KindSouls, let’s support Khoir to continue his life with his family.
